[IDEA] Split up archives
I think it would be nice if larger files could be offered in multiple download parts. so a 100 meg downlaod may be offered in 10, 10 meg downloads. i suppose then once you had all of them the self extractor would recombine them.

I hate that so much. I hate having to download several small files, when it would be so much easier to just download one big file...

Nah... splitting is so... cheap, you see that on warez sites not on a site like ours.
When you can't download a certain amount of mbs in a specific time you should upgrade your connection, and when you are unable to do that... sorry for that.

I never tried, but is it possible to use things like getflash at CGA? That's sort of the same anyway.

Getflash is a download accelerator which I thought was freeware, but is not (and still I seem to own it, whoops ) It splits one file into multiple packages to increase download speeds. Some download sites won't work with it, and since CGA has a crediting system I wondered how many credits would be left after using it for these downloads I'll give it a try then
If anyone's looking for a download accelerator that IS freeware, check out this place

Firefox gives you resume ability on our servers, until 48 hours after starting your download.
But anyway, the dialup problems will be solved with CGA2, though I can't let you know how yet

I normally use Internet Download Manager (IDM) but usually turn it off while grabbing from sites like CGA. Don't wanna burn up all credits at once and if the file's too large--well I just leave the computer on all night and let DSL256 do the work. Dialup sucks arse.
