[IDEA] Patch/Expansion selection

Post [IDEA] Patch/Expansion selection
I remember reading other posts about patches being available or ftp'ed so I'm thinking perhaps add a Patch/Expansion section on the main site.  I personally sent in the Sim Theme Park Expansion iso--all 6megs of it--and think stuff like that should be kept separate from the games.

As usual, add yer comments or complaints about this suggestion below.

The expansion and the game was in one category is easier, yes.
But would'n it look nice if the patches are kept in their own section ?
I suppose with time it will grow.

Another consideration:
Sometimes 'cracked' games who needs an CD in the drive aren't  'cracked' anymore when you apply a patch. You have to be carefull what and how you patch.

I'm not talking about no-cd type patches but ones that fix bugs in the game.  There's no need for any lame no-cd patch when you can mount iso's, cue files with Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools, you can have over 20 games mounted at once if you wanted.  Its better to not have no-cd patches available on CGA as most of the ones I've acquired elsewhere have been full of ad/spyware, trojans, virii or other nasty stuff that screws up a computer.  I quit downloading them after I saw how many of those no-cd patches were more than they appeared.

And putting expansions with the games might be okay to start with while there's only a handful but as the numbers increase (which we all know will happen as more games become abandoned) that will lead to a messy games area.  Keep them separate allows people to quickly locate expansions if they already have a game and want to extend its life.

Before long the main games list is going to need to be split up into the typical #, a-z subcategories so finding a game with a certain letter is easier with less bitching by those damn leechers--may they rot in the hell of windows forever.
