The copy of FF4 that is on the site looks like a very early attempt at a translation from the Japanese version. I would suggest removing it because it's pretty bad. I'm sure as soon as submissions come back it will be submitted in about 3 seconds. If not Mats_J or myself will submit it. Also it would be good to name the download as the translated Japanese version or the North American version (there is a fair bit of difference in content).

Well, it's the only translated version of the japanese version I found. If anyone can find a better translation, go ahead  

And yes, I chose the translated japanese version because the north american version is quite different and almost another game entirely.

The North American version of FF4 IS another game.  It's FF6 in Japan; there were several Japanese versions that were never officially translated to English so the ones in NA were renumbered when they came out with FF6 so as not to confuse American gamers.

No, FF4 is not FF6 in japanese.

FF6 in japanese is FF3 in US, the one with Terra, Locke and Celes. (Yes, I thought that keeping tabs on the different titles was a little troubleing too at first.)

FF4, the one with Rosa, Cecil and Kain is FF1 in the north american realease and I think that the translation you got on the site now is the one I first found when playing the game. Yes I have a better translation so we are a pack of bloodhounds waiting for the "all clear".

The difference between the realeases are mainly that the USA version feature easier enemies and the removal of the secret room. I've been thinking that we should include both the US and the Japanese realease, but that will have to wait until we can submit again.
