This is a generic one, but it was Super Mario for NES back in 86 or 87. I was also a Double Dragon freak when I was a kid. Never beat it though. That game was nearly impossible.

errrm, the first I remember playing/owning? That would be 10 years ago, when I was 3 1/2, Network Q RAC Rally Championship. I remember buying it from the old Tiny shop in Cheltenham.

I think I am the oldest one on here with the possible exception of brokendownflier? My first game was also on the Apple IIe. It was either SeaFox or Escape From Castle Wolfenstein (the original green stickfigure game that spawned Wolf 3D and RtCW) Those were the days. We got an Apple II+ not long after, boy that thing was a piece of crap. Also had an IBM PS2 at some point after.

Haha, that's good to know :D

But on-topic: my first game was probably something on the C64, like Treasure Quest or Boulder Dash. I remember playing "Jungle Adventure" or someting like that. You had to save your monkey in that game :-)

Then the NES-era began so it probably would have been Mario which I've played first on a home-console.

On GameBoy it was Tetris, of course

He's not really 85, is he? (I'm 28 btw). Anyone remember Sundog for the Apple? I used to love that game... And remember the text only adventures?

My first games to be played were Super Mario Bros. 1 on the NES and a game on Amiga that I cannot remember what`s it`s name.

My first games:

Nascar racing 2
Doom
Wolfenstien 3D
Quake
Rise of the triad (I still play this game today, with my dad who also likes this game)
Duke Nukem 3d
Grand Theft Auto 2 (spent 3 years on this game before I found out Grand Theft Auto 3 came out lol)

That's a good start, for me :)

[EDIT]

Oh one more, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy text adventure! I used to spend hours trying to figure out what to do next...
