Bionic Commando. Holy F*** that game is hard! I used to think Contra was hard, but now I can beat it on one continue. Bionic Commando makes that game look like a cakewalk. I swear Capcom was trying to make the most difficult game ever. Sure, the first few levels are easy, but four or five levels into the game and you go holy F***! It just becomes so difficult.
Now, for a more modern game. Contra 4 for DS is neigh impossible. I've never seen past the second level. I've even let the most hardcore of gamers I know give the game a shot and they couldn't get any further than the second level. I'm lucky to get past the first level. Now, some games give you a health meter or a certain amount of hits before you are dead, but one bullet will kill you in Contra 4.
...the same goes for Bionic Commando. TOUCHING someone in Bionic Commando kills you. Say you're pulling yourself up to where there is an enemy above you and while you're climbing up, he walks your way and you just touch his boot, you die. Any kind of collision kills you. I want you guys to try playing Bionic Commando for NES then disagree with me.
Some would say Syoban Action is a hard game, but it's just about memorization. If you memorize where all the traps are, you can get through the game's 4 levels with lives to spare. I have.
