Windows 7

Postby Legendary » Tue Apr 28, 2009 7:24 pm

I'm running the release candidate at the moment and so far I like it a lot! Dosbox seems to work fine on it, so that's a real relief, a lot of the old games will still be playable. The only downside it that it doesn't automatically turn off visual effects when running a game in full screen (thus slowing performance).

Anyone have any experience or tried this OS out?

Yes. I had the operating system in Virtual PC. It is just like Microsucks Vista except without some of the annoying things.
One fix was that they allowed you to disable the annoying UAC. Another fix was better compatibility with some programs, but not games. It also had a much better Microsucks Paint. It also was even more of a RAM eater. Ran fast in Classic Mode though. It came with Internet Explorer 8. It also had a much more compact taskbar for those people who have millions of applications open at once.

You can already disable UAC in Windows Vista...
And if your PC can't handle the Aero effects, why not stick with XP, hm? ;)

I do stick with XP. It's my favorite operating system.
